Ceri Wax

Ceri Wax is an iconic, innovative producer and DJ within Italy's clubbing scene. WAXTAPE, his debut release, is a twenty-nine-track album presented in four movements, bringing together electronic music and experimentation.

The album channels the energy of clubbing and the dancefloor as a deep, collective experience, responding to enforced immobility and a movement increasingly shaped by commercial, stereotyped and repetitive formulas. WAXTAPE expresses a desire for renewal and for individual identity to dissolve into collective experience, moving freely through liquid sounds, melodies and rhythms.

It includes Solo Insieme, whose UK-made official video was nominated for Best Video at the Berlin Music Video Awards 2022 and the Oslo Film Festival. The album was first presented live on a tour beginning in Paris and continuing through major Italian cities.

Ceri Wax's musical archive continues to grow, with releases connected to INIT, a night he created at Milan's Q Club. The project envisages a series of club-focused EPs released exclusively on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. INIT is a movement centred on playing and dancing to quality music, creating freedom and close connections while giving new momentum to Italy's electronic underground.
