Calm

Calm is Japanese producer and DJ Kiyotaka Fukagawa, originally from Kumamoto and later based in Kawasaki. He began writing and arranging music in a high-school band. His recordings often involve a longstanding group of musicians with jazz backgrounds. Alongside the downtempo records associated with his name, he has maintained a house and techno DJ practice, including the Bound For Everywhere parties.

His albums include Moonage Electric Ensemble and Quiet Music Under the Moon. Fukagawa dedicated the latter to his son and his mother, who died before meeting her grandson. He releases through his own Music Conception label and works with Hell Yeah Recordings on vinyl editions, releases and remixes. Big City Takes is a collaboration with Jimi Tenor. His other regular listening settings have included Sunset The Marina, Afterglow and Bar Music.
