Pozzuoli is the main town of the Phlegrean Peninsula, in the Metropolitan City of Napoli, with about 75,000 residents. It was founded in 531 BC as the Greek colony of Dicaearchia by refugees from Samos, and has the Flavian Amphitheatre, the third largest Italian amphitheatre after the Colosseum and the one in Capua.

On the volcanic coast just north of Napoli, a club built into the industrial bones of an older venue has made the town a destination for underground electronic music. It sits inside the Campi Flegrei caldera and draws a dedicated crowd from across the Naples area.
