Terraforma

Terraforma began in 2014 in the wooded grounds of Villa Arconati in Bollate, near Milan, produced by THREES in collaboration with the Fondazione Augusto Rancilio. Its original three-day format brought experimental music, live performances, workshops, artist meetings and installations into the landscape, with camping on site. Environmental sustainability and the relationship between listening and place shaped the project alongside the music. Eight editions took place at Villa Arconati between 2014 and 2023; a compilation documenting that period includes Suzanne Ciani, Donato Dozzy, Nkisi and Mohammad Reza Mortazavi. Terraforma has since developed EXO, a programme working across different cities and settings, and Radical School, a residential learning project at the villa centred on listening, field recording and collective work.
