Optimo Music is the Glasgow label run by Keith McIvor, better known as JD Twitch, one half of the Optimo DJ partnership. Established in 2009, it extends the broad listening associated with the club night into a recording catalogue. Golden Teacher, Junto Club, The Golden Filter, Fantastic Twins and Sex Judas are among the artists represented.
Electronic dance music sits alongside songs, post-punk influences and experimental recordings. Associated imprints include Optimo Trax, So Low, Digital Danceforce and Against Fascism Trax, giving particular musical or political ideas their own release contexts. Records such as the Optimo 25 compilation also connect the label to the history of the night itself. The label publishes new productions and archival recordings, including music for associated imprints.
