Germany’s early techno scene, 1988 to 1994, when a new music and club culture took shape. Directed by Maren Sextro and Holger Wick, Germany, 2008. 1 h 42 min
New sounds, new technology and the political events of the time fed a scene in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne built on experiment and do-it-yourself: fans became DJs and promoters, founded labels and opened record shops. At the 1991 Love Parade in Berlin the local scenes came together for the first time, and a trend became a movement.
With archive footage from the first Love Parade in 1989 and from inside Frankfurt’s Omen and Dorian Gray.
With Sven Väth, DJ Hell, Wolfgang Voigt.
