Amnesia Scanner

Amnesia Scanner is the duo of Finnish musicians Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala, formed in Berlin after their earlier project Renaissance Man. Their music uses processed voices, distorted electronic textures and irregular club rhythms, alongside visual and performance work. Early recordings included AS Live and the AS EP. PAN released Another Life in 2018, with contributions from Pan Daijing and the synthetic vocal character Oracle.

Tearless followed in 2020, featuring Daniela Lalita, LYZZA and Code Orange. The duo described its subject as a breakup with the planet, connecting the record to environmental anxiety. They collaborated with Bill Kouligas on LEXACHAST and later with Freeka Tet on STROBE.RIP and HOAX. Earlier collaborations include work with Holly Herndon and Mykki Blanco. PAN has issued much of this catalogue.
