DJ Seinfeld

DJ Seinfeld is Swedish producer Armand Jakobsson, who also records as Rimbaudian and Birds of Sweden. He began making music while studying in Edinburgh, continued in Malmö and developed the DJ Seinfeld project during a later period in Barcelona. Early tracks circulated online before releases through Ectotherm and Lobster Fury. U used a spoken account by Bob Geldof within a house arrangement.

His debut album Time Spent Away From U appeared in 2017. Mirrors followed on Ninja Tune, recorded between Berlin and Malmö, with more detailed melodic and vocal arrangements. Jakobsson’s early work was frequently associated with lo-fi house, although his DJ sets and other releases also draw on jungle and breaks. His recorded mixes and Rinse FM broadcasts document that wider selection alongside the music issued under his different aliases.
