Cutting between avant-garde composers, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Afrika Bambaataa and The Prodigy, the film follows the turntable becoming an instrument, disco lovers inventing acid house on cheap machines and the Detroit pioneers of techno. Lee travels from the American Midwest to Europe and Japan.
Written by Peter Shapiro, who later turned it into the book Modulations: A History of Electronic Music.
