Wendy Carlos on the BBC, 1989

Wendy Carlos at home among her synthesizers, turning a sine wave into a xylophone. A clip from the BBC series Horizon, 1989. 4 min

Known for the scores of A Clockwork Orange, The Shining and Tron, Carlos shows how she sculpts analog sounds into imitations of real instruments, and plays one of the original Moog modular systems, the instrument she helped develop with Robert Moog.

With Wendy Carlos.
