Dusky

Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman released music as Solarity before introducing the Dusky name in 2011. Their debut album Stick by This appeared on Anjunadeep that year. Its arrangements incorporated Granger-Howell’s classical training, sampled or sung vocals and influences from UK garage and American house. They subsequently released through Aus Music, Dogmatik and other labels.

The duo established 17 Steps in 2014, beginning with the Love Taking Over EP. Their later label relationships include School, Running Back and Anjunadeep, with recordings covering techno, house and rave-derived rhythms. Their Anjunadeep track Mr Man appeared on the label’s 2013 compilation and was later revisited by the duo. Dusky continues to work as a production partnership and a DJ act alongside running its own release platform.
