Marcel Dettmann

Marcel Dettmann is a German DJ and producer. He listened to new wave and industrial music before beginning to DJ techno in the 1990s. He became a resident at Ostgut and its successor Berghain and worked at Hard Wax between 2002 and 2012. He founded Marcel Dettmann Records in 2006, releasing his own productions and records by Norman Nodge and T++.

His recorded mixes include Berghain 02, Fabric 77 and DJ-Kicks. Ostgut Ton released the albums Dettmann in 2010 and Dettmann II in 2013. Collaborations with Ben Klock include Phantom Studies. Dettmann’s work beyond clubs includes BLACK BOX with photographer Sven Marquardt and MASSE with Frank Wiedemann and choreographer Nadja Saidakowa, developed with Berghain and the Berlin State Ballet. He has also released through 50Weapons, Kontra-Musik and other labels.
