LINEA PICKKompakt took its present form in Cologne in 1998, combining existing labels, a distributor and the record shop that had opened as Delirium in 1993. Wolfgang Voigt, Michael Mayer and Jürgen Paape are central to that history. The label became associated with minimal techno and microhouse, often bringing melodic phrases, vocals and pop structures into otherwise restrained electronic arrangements.
Its Total compilations gather club-oriented productions, while the Pop Ambient series provides a separate space for beatless music. Superpitcher, Justus Köhncke, Gui Boratto, The Field and Kölsch are among the artists represented in the catalogue, alongside the founders' work. Distribution and the Cologne shop connect those releases to a wider network of independent labels.
