Scuba

Paul Rose founded Hotflush Recordings in London in 2003 and began releasing as Scuba in 2005. The label issued music by Mount Kimbie, Joy Orbison, Distance and Boxcutter alongside his own records. His debut album, A Mutual Antipathy, appeared in 2008, after he had moved to Berlin. Early releases drew on dubstep; subsequent albums expanded into house, techno, jungle and electro.

Personality arrived in 2012, followed by Claustrophobia in 2015. Rose also records as SCB, releasing the album Caibu under that name in 2018. Diivorce, a collaboration with vocalist DOMiNii, followed in 2021, while Digital Underground returned to breakbeat hardcore and acid-house material. His recorded DJ sets include releases for DJ-Kicks and Fabric. In 2022 he began Not A Diving Podcast, interviewing people working in electronic music.
