Paul Rose, better known as Scuba, launched Hotflush Recordings in 2003.

Paul Rose, better known as Scuba, launched Hotflush Recordings in 2003. The name had first been used for a UK garage night in Bristol; the recording label then became part of London's developing bass-music scene. Early work by Scuba, Boxcutter and Vaccine preceded releases by Mount Kimbie, Joy Orbison and Untold, documenting different directions emerging from dubstep.

The catalogue later expanded further into house and techno, with records by Locked Groove, Dense & Pika, Or:la and Paul Woolford. Rose's SCB alias provides another strand alongside his Scuba releases, while Sepalcure and Pyur show the space given to different approaches to albums and electronic texture.
