Studio Barnhus began releasing records in 2010, organised by Axel Boman, Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist. The name comes from their recording studio on Barnhusgatan in Stockholm, and refers to a label, a DJ trio and the wider circle of artists around them. The first compilation, Good Children Make Bad Grown Ups, already placed sampling and playful rhythmic arrangements at the centre of its house music.

Boman's Family Vacation and Kovács' The Bells are part of the album catalogue, alongside work by Bella Boo, Baba Stiltz and Off The Meds. The three founders also release individual records through the label.
